Curiosities, Joys, and Inspirations

I’ve scuba dived the depths of the Caribbean Sea, hiked rainforests in Trinidad, and now I am learning tango (because one is always learning tango). Dance inspires my spirit.  I found it later in life and now share it with others as a Zumba and dance fitness instructor.  Among my favorite classes is teaching at Clayton Home, a mental health residence in Lincoln Park.  Joy.

I have written extensively about travel, food, fitness and health for a wide variety of publications nationwide. My dining columns have appeared in Chicago Health & Wellness and Conscious Choice magazines. I have also had nutrition articles published in the Chicago Tribune Good Eating section and was a contributing editor to The Essential Guide to Healthy and Healing Foods.

To keep all that eating and drinking in check, I became a certified personal trainer, Pilates and Zumba instructor. I teach group fitness classes and train private clients.

I love my dog Sawyer (shedding and all!) because he makes me go outside rain, snow, and sun.  Nose sniffing the wind, he has has taught me that roaming the great outdoors is as important to my writing career as tapping away at the keyboard.
